Break-Ins at WCDP
September 22, 2008 -- Over
the course of the last two
weeks, the concession stands
and meeting rooms at Wesley
Chapel District Park have been
broken into on four separate
occasions. The thieves broke
locks, destroyed a steel door
and made off with
approximately $5,000.00
worth of property, including
large quantities of candy from
the concession stands.
WCAA
depends on concession stand
revenue to pay for lighting
and field expenses and to keep
registration fees low. The
WCAA Board of Directors is
offering a $500 reward for
information directly leading
to the arrest and conviction
of the perpetrators. If you
have any information
concerning the break-ins
please email
wcaafla@wcaafla.org
and
contact the Pasco County
Sheriff's office.
While it appears that these crimes occurred during the late overnight hours, WCAA is committed to providing a safe environment for its members. The Board of Directors urges its members to remain vigilant for suspicious activity in the park and to exercise caution in the park late at night.
